Here to help you build, progress, and grow.

Meet your therapist:

Alan Tsang, LCPC

As a therapist, Alan believes that therapy can be an invaluable source of support and stability that allows you to continually grow and learn about yourself. Rooted in a psychodynamic framework, Alan’s approach focuses on uncovering how current behaviors and responses are a product of past experiences, relationships, and interactions.

Alan also believes that people fundamentally have the strengths needed to surpass any challenge, but may need support and guidance along the way to flesh it out. Alan consistently brings a warm and gentle, yet directive, voice into your sessions as a way to address various challenges, navigate change, and ultimately cultivate the growth you deserve.

Alan holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Northwestern University, bringing in many types of experience and years into practice. He has worked in group and private practice settings where his LCPC license and National Board Certification was earned through working with various populations including adolescents, teens, college students, adults, and couples.

Alan has also worked with many complex issues related to depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, career stressors, PTSD, trauma, and grief. He is also passionate about working with clients struggling with culture dynamics and overcoming stigmas related to seeking therapy particularly in Asian American communities. Alan also has experience and fondness for working with mental health workers struggling with work-life balance and needing their own therapeutic support to navigate constant changes in their lives and career.

Background

When not in session, you will find Alan enjoying moments with his family, at the gym, watching a good scary movie or anime series, relaxing to his favorite music, and building various Gunpla and Lego sets.

Alan also enjoys going out for walks and drives exploring various neighborhoods and areas near him. He also enjoys discovering new restaurants to dine in; with a particular palette for tacos, sushi, and ramen.
